The Warren Easton Lady Eagles volleyball team is in a rebuilding year, as they are returning only one starter from last year’s team, senior setter Eden Brisken. Joining her on the floor to start the season are juniors Kennedy Wells at middle blocker and Deahsyah Johnson at outside hitter. Three sophomores are slotted to start for the lady eagles. Tahjae Brickley will take over at the opposite, Jamyra Tyler at middle blocker (she saw some action last year) and LaJai Wilson will be the other outside hitter. The lady eagles will be strong on defense with returning defensive specialist Evelin Romero and the addition of Tanyell Robinson a first year senior but strong on defense. Two ladies moving up from the junior varsity are Kayla Addison and Keturah Badie who will both be working hard to get court time. New members of the team this year are juniors Jolie Neal, Imani Powell, Zori Stevens, Tyshea Trim, Marianna Williams and late addition Celeste Metoyer. Kelani Gilmore is a returning senior who had to sit out last year after transferring in and will be contributing at the opposite position. The ladies have had a good summer of conditioning and summer league play, but the real test will come August 28, when they play in the Lutcher Jamboree.
