Eagles News · Lady Eagles Go 2-1 for the Week

The Lady Eagle volleyball team had a good week on the court winning 2 out of 3 matches and improving their record to 6-4. The week started out with a tough loss to defending state and former district foe Cabrini, but the team played a very good match in spite of coming up just short.
The next two games the Eagles came back strong. First defeating Sarah Reed Tuesday in three straight sets and them East Jefferson Wednesday 3-1. The East Jefferson game was all about the seniors. Leading the charge was Kennedy Wells whose performance included 13 kills, 3 serving aces and dominant net play in the middle. Celeste Metoyer added to the scoring with 7 serving aces and 5 kills. Deahsyah Johnson contributed 6 kills and Tyshea Trim added 3 more.

With the seniors leading the way the juniors were making their mark as well. Lajai Wilson had 7 serving aces and Jamyra Tyler had 6 kills. After two busy weeks the ladies will slow down next week with two home games starting with McMain Wednesday Oct. 7 and St Mary’s Thursday Oct 8. Both games will begin at 4:30 with the junior varsity playing first followed by the varsity. Spectators are allowed so come out and support the Lady Eagles Volleyball Team.
